Description
The DAC 860 (formerly PAD-HD) receives an ATSC or QAM RF signal and converts it to analog video and audio in letterboxed 16:9or centered in 4:3 outputs. It has a digital terrestrial F-connector input and composite video and audio outputs for connection to a TV set or re-modulation into an analog modulator. The DAC-860 also converts the Information Carrier into the analog output so SAP and closed-captioning can be controlled by the end user instead of at the headend.The robust modular package is designed for commercial applications.It can be located at the head end site arranged in a standard modular chassis in configurations of 6 demodulators, or 4 demodulators and 4 modulators. It will operate with the existing power supply load currently used for the mini-modulators.
